Our new cages for cats. This project was made possible by a generous gift from Dave Ankeney.

We have completed two new get acquainted rooms for prospective owners and pet to meet and greet each other.

New Landscaping at front of shelter

New landscaping in front of the shelter was facilitated by Mendenhall Nursery who removed the old dirt and hauled it off,
Kenny Burns who hauled in new good earth, Johnny Oesterman who tilled and prepared the soil and finished by the
"Green Thumb" girls, Kelli Sethman & Jaymie Hamilton. Really improved the look of the shelter.

Youth donation
Zoey Rayne Wattenbargar, of Macon, MO., made bracelets to sell
and used her profits to purchase much needed food and supplies for the Animal shelter.

Zoey and her parents enjoyed meeting many of the dogs and cats her donation will aid.
The Shelter really appreciates her efforts to help our animals.

Gold Thunder Softball Donates
Charity Challenge Softball Tournament
Coached by Tom and Tonya Kelly & Donna Bell
April 25, 2015

Gold Thunder Fast Pitch 12U Softball Team donates $1,000 to the Animal Shelter of Linn County (formerly Linn Co. Humane Society). The team participated in the Charity Challenge Softball Tournament in Blue Springs in April. They chose the charity they wanted to play for and the girls voted on the Animal Shelter of Linn County. St. Jude's Hospital was a very close second. In addition to collecting pledges, the team participated in the fence decorating contest placing 1st and costume contest placing 2nd to increase the money raised. Maisie Billips earned the Top Dog award collecting $246 in pledges.
The purpose of the fence decorating contest was to let everyone know what charity the team represented and the costume contest to show the team spirit. The team wore tails donated by Gail Calvert. Judging took place on the Saturday of the tournament. Although a majority of the tournament was rained-out, it did not dampen the spirit of the team and the cause they were fighting for.
Thunder is coached by Tom and Tonya Kelly & Donna Bell.

First Row, LTR: Kenslie Stufflebean, Savanna Kelly, Olivia Johnson, Brooke Lauhoff, and Morgan Paahlar.
Second Row, LTR: Vincint A. McCaghy, Board member; Debbie Tayler, V. President; Debbie Waldrep, Board Member; Eleanor Ravens, Fundraising Chairman; Randy Head, Shelter Manager. Third Row, LTR: Tom Kelly (Coach), Ciarrah Bell, Shelby Scott, Michelle Brosemer, President ASLC, Maisie Billups, Chloee Dorrell, Tonya Kelly (Coach), Donna Bell (Official Team Mom). Not pictured: Chloe Calvert, Abbey Kussman & Krista Monnig.
